ByteQuix / Website Maintenance
Website maintenance services

Small business websites, built to load fast and kept current.

Static pages, not page-builder templates. Hosting, security patching, monitoring, and unlimited content edits, included at a flat $129 a month. You send the change, we make it, usually the same or next business day. No per-edit fee, no hours to ration, and nobody on your team has to learn an editor.

Free 30 minute call. We diagnose, you decide.

Why it matters

A current site does four jobs at once.

Most people check the website before they call you. What they find there decides whether the call happens, what they already believe when it does, and whether they can find you at all.

  • It answers before you do.
Hours, service area, what you actually do, who to ask for. Every question the site answers correctly is one your team does not field twice.
  • It competes for the search.
Google counts page experience, load speed included, among its ranking signals. A page that paints quickly is running the same race with better shoes.
  • It shows the company is running.
A team page listing people who left, or a service you stopped offering, reads as a business that has stopped paying attention. Current is a signal on its own.
  • It stops being a task.
Nobody has to own it, chase it, or learn the editor. The change gets sent and it gets made, which is the whole point of paying for this rather than a subscription.
Two ways to pay for it

Flat monthly, or own it outright.

Both include the build. The difference is who holds the asset and how edits are handled after launch.

What is covered

Everything that changes month to month is included.

Here it is up front, so you can plan around it. Anything that changes what a page says is yours to ask for as often as you like. Anything that adds something the site could not do before is a project, and you get a fixed price in writing before it starts.

  • Ask as often as you like
Copy changes, new or swapped photos, staff added or removed, hours and contact details, services and descriptions, testimonials, FAQ entries, blog or news posts, PDFs and downloads, link fixes, seasonal banners. Titles, meta descriptions and alt text stay correct as the content changes.
  • Priced up front
A brand new page beyond your original count, redesigning an existing layout, e-commerce or checkout, booking or payment integrations, custom functionality, logo and brand identity work, and off-page SEO campaigns such as link building or citations.
  • Always included, never billed
Hosting, TLS certificates, security patching, uptime monitoring, backups, the technical SEO setup at launch, and the small fixes nobody asked for because we saw them first.
  • Always yours
Your domain, your words, your photos, your logo, your documents. All of it transfers to you whatever happens. On the monthly plan the build stays with us, and the one-time option is there for anyone who would rather own that too.
Why this costs more than a platform subscription

Built to load before they lose interest.

A website builder ships a large amount of code to do a small amount of work, because it has to be ready for anything anyone might drag onto the page. We build static pages instead: the work happens once, before the page is ever served, so a visitor downloads a finished thing rather than the machinery that assembles it.

Do not take our word for the difference. Search for Google PageSpeed Insights, put your own address in, and read the mobile number. Ten seconds, and it is your site rather than an average. Whatever it says is where this conversation actually starts, and if it comes back strong you have just saved yourself $129 a month.

Why the number is worth anything at all: Google counts page experience, load speed included, among its ranking signals, so a slow site competes uphill against a fast one for the same searches. Visitors are less patient than search engines, and on a phone over cellular the gap widens.

Mobile, the harder of the two
This is our own site, and it is the same build your site would get. Google hosts the report, not us: open the live results, or type your own address into the same tool and compare. Scores move a point or two between runs, which is why we point at the report rather than quote a number.
What we will do for yours

We test your current site before we start and hand you the number. Then we build, and we do not stop until your Performance score clears 95. You get the after report the same way you got the before one.

Being straight about what this is

Websites are the small thing we do.

ByteQuix builds custom operational software: the quoting tool, the scheduling board, the integration between the two systems that refuse to talk, the report that does not exist yet. That is the work, and it is where the money we save a company actually comes from.

A website is a commodity, and we price it like one. We offer it because clients kept asking, and because a business whose site is a year stale is usually a business with the same problem in three other places. If you have that problem, the spreadsheet your business runs on is a better conversation than your homepage, and we would rather have that one.

Questions

What people ask before they hand it over.

What is included in website maintenance services?

Hosting, security patching, uptime monitoring, backups, and every content edit you ask for. Content edits mean the things that actually change month to month: a new staff member on the team page, a swapped photo, revised service copy, updated hours, a new testimonial, a price change. You email the request and it gets done, usually the same or next business day. There is no per-change fee and no ticket allowance to ration.

How much does a website cost per month?

Ours is $129 a month, flat, covering the build, hosting, and unlimited content edits. If you would rather own the build outright, it is $2,800 once and then $29 a month for hosting, with edits quoted as they come. Worth knowing what you are comparing against: Squarespace starts at $16 a month and Wix at $17 on annual billing, and both rise from there, but that price buys the platform only. The building and every edit after it stay with you.

What is not included, and what gets quoted separately?

Content edits are unlimited. Structural work is quoted before it starts: a brand new page beyond your original page count, a redesign of an existing layout, e-commerce or checkout, a booking or payment integration, custom functionality, or a logo and brand identity. The line is simple. Changing what a page says is maintenance. Adding something the site could not do before is a project, and you get a fixed price in writing before anyone starts.

What happens to the site if we cancel?

Your domain is yours and transfers to you, always, even if we registered it for you. Your content is yours: the words, the photos, the logo, the documents, anything you gave us or we wrote for you. What stays with us on the monthly plan is the build itself, the underlying code, because that is what the $129 rents rather than buys. Cancel and you walk away with the domain and every piece of content, and the site stops being served. If you want to own the build outright, that is exactly what the $2,800 one-time option is for, and we will point you at it when it suits how you plan to operate.

Is SEO included?

The technical half is, and it is set up at launch rather than sold as an extra. That means the things a search engine actually reads: page titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, clean URLs, a sitemap, structured data, Search Console connected and the site submitted, plus the load speed that Google counts as a ranking signal. For reference, our own site scores 100 on Google PageSpeed Insights for SEO. What is not included is the off-page half, meaning link building, citations, guest posting and ongoing content campaigns. That is a separate engagement and we will quote it if you want it, but you get a properly built foundation either way.

Why does site speed matter for a small business website?

Two reasons, one of which Google states directly. Page experience, including load speed, is a ranking signal, so a slow site competes against faster ones for the same searches. The second is behavioural: visitors leave pages that do not paint quickly, and on phones over cellular the gap is wider. We build static sites rather than page-builder sites, which is why they score where they do on Google PageSpeed Insights. You can run that test on your current site yourself in about ten seconds.

Is Squarespace or Wix good enough for our business?

Often, yes, and we will say so. If somebody on your team enjoys editing the site, has time for it, and the design already suits you, a platform subscription is cheaper than any managed plan and you should keep it. Where this stops working is when nobody wants to own it: the edits queue up, the staff page goes a year out of date, and the site quietly stops representing the business. That is the situation this service exists for, not a technical shortcoming of the platform.

Send us the site you have been meaning to update.

Thirty minutes, free. We will look at what you have, run the speed test with you, and tell you which of the two options fits. Sometimes the answer is to keep the platform you are on and give one person an hour a month, and that one costs you nothing.
