Small business SEO: get found by the people already searching for what you do.
Your customers search before they call. This plan covers the groundwork that decides whether you show up: technical SEO on a site we already run, two researched blog posts a month aimed at what people actually type into Google, and a Business Profile that stays current. Flat $495 a month, with the $129 managed website plan inside that number.
Free 30 minute call. We diagnose, you decide.
Two blog posts a month, aimed at what your customers type into Google.
Most small business sites stall for one reason: nobody has time to write. So we write. Every blog post starts as a real search your customers make, gets drafted by us, and waits for your approval before it publishes. The same cadence runs on our own blog; this plan points it at your business.
- Two researched blog posts. Each one answers a question your customers already ask Google: what a repair should cost, how to choose between two options, who handles the problem nearby. Written by us, approved by you, published on your site where searchers land on it.
- A keyword plan you approve. Before anything gets written, you see the list: each target, why it was chosen, what it should bring in. Strike entries, add the service you want more of. The research is ours; the plan is yours.
- A business profile that stays alive. The Google Business Profile drives the map results, and directories cannot rank there, only businesses can. We build it out, keep hours and services current, and tie it back to the site.
- A report in plain numbers.Impressions, clicks, and positions from Google Search Console, the same numbers Google shows us. One page a month. You check the trend against the phone ringing, not against a promise.
Already handled, because we run the site.
Most SEO retainers spend their first months fixing the website underneath: slow pages, missing titles, broken structure. This plan skips that spend. The site is ours to run, built static, with titles, structured data, the sitemap, and Search Console set up at launch and kept current as part of the deal.
Speed is the part Google is explicit about: page experience, load speed included, counts as a ranking signal. Static pages hold onto it. Page builders spend it on machinery the visitor has to download first.
Put your current site into Google PageSpeed Insights and read the mobile number. Ten seconds, and it tells you what a typical SEO engagement would have to fix before the real work starts. Ours is on the right, on mobile, the harder test.
Rankings cannot be promised. Speed can. We test your current site before the work starts, build until the Performance score clears 95, and hand you the before and after reports side by side.
Six months before the trend line means anything.
New pages take months to earn positions, and positions take more months to earn calls. Anyone quoting faster is quoting something they do not control: Google’s guidance for businesses hiring SEO help says plainly that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and lists ranking guarantees among the reasons to walk away from a provider.
So the term is six months, the reports are monthly, and the promise is the work itself. Here is what each stretch looks like.
- Month one: setup. The technical pass, the Business Profile built out, the keyword research, and the plan you approve before anything gets written. By the end of it you know exactly what the next five months will publish.
- Months two through six: the cadence. Two blog posts a month, internal links as pages accumulate, technical upkeep, a report every month. Impressions rise first, positions climb next, clicks follow. That order is normal, and the report makes it visible.
- Month six: judge it.Six reports and a trend line. Scale what is working with add-ons, hold the cadence, or drop back to the $129 website plan. The numbers make that call.
- Month seven and on.The cadence keeps running, month to month from here. Most clients hold at two blog posts; some add a third on the topic pulling traffic, or a page for the second location. The plan flexes by add-on, never by tier jump.
Flat $495 a month, website included.
The SEO plan sits on top of the managed website plan, and the $129 for that plan is inside the $495. Six month initial term, because search needs that long to mean anything, then month to month.
Website + SEO
Everything on the website maintenance plan, plus the monthly SEO work: technical upkeep, Google Business Profile, the keyword plan, the blog posts, the report. One invoice, one number.
Add-ons
When something works, add to it. More blog posts on the topic pulling traffic, a page for the second location, a listings cleanup. Priced per piece, in writing, before the work starts.
Everything in the plan, and the work that sits beyond it.
A flat price only works with a defined scope, so here is ours in the open: what the $495 covers every month, and where agency-scale work begins. Compare it line for line against any proposal that crosses your desk.
- In the plan.Technical SEO, the Google Business Profile, keyword research and the plan you approve, two researched blog posts a month, internal links as pages accumulate, and the monthly report. The dotted i’s and crossed t’s of being findable.
- Not in the plan.Link buying, outreach campaigns, guest posting, press placements, paid ads management. That work is real and it works. It is agency-scale, priced accordingly, and it belongs on top of a finished foundation rather than instead of one.
- When to graduate. When the reports show search paying for itself and you want to push harder, that is the plan doing its job. Dedicated agencies average $3,209 a month in Ahrefs’ industry survey, and the good ones earn it.
- What happens then.We refer you to a firm that does that work all day, and we stay your website partner. The domain, the content, and the site are yours and come with you. Nothing gets rebuilt out from under you.
The AI answer engines read the same groundwork.
Pew Research measured that when Google shows an AI summary, people click a traditional result on 8% of searches, against 15% without one. The clicks that remain concentrate where a small business lives: local searches, map results, and buying-intent queries. And AI answers cite sources. Structured data, plain factual pages, and a consistent business profile are what get a company named inside those answers, and they are the same groundwork this plan builds every month.
What people ask before they sign up.
How much do SEO services cost for a small business?
In Ahrefs’ survey of 439 SEO providers, the most common monthly retainer runs $501 to $1,000, and agencies average $3,209 a month. Ours is $495 a month flat, and that includes the $129 managed website plan underneath it, so the SEO work itself is effectively $366. The gap between that and a dedicated agency buys link building, outreach, and a content team, which is exactly the work we leave to dedicated firms. You are paying for the groundwork, priced like groundwork.
Do you guarantee SEO results?
No, and we would put distance between you and anyone who does. Google’s own guidance for businesses hiring SEO help says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and lists ranking guarantees among the warning signs. The guarantee offers you will run into tend to hide their escape hatch in the fine print: keywords nobody searches, or refunds that only trigger if nothing improves anywhere. What we commit to in writing is the work: the technical upkeep, the approved keyword plan, two researched blog posts a month, and a monthly report from Google Search Console showing impressions, clicks, and positions.
What do we get every month for $495?
Everything in the website plan: hosting, security patching, monitoring, and unlimited content edits. Plus the SEO cadence: the technical side kept current, the Google Business Profile maintained, two blog posts researched and written against the keyword plan you approved, internal links added as pages accumulate, and a report in plain numbers at the end of the month. Each blog post goes to you for approval first and names the keyword it targets and why. If a post sits unreviewed for seven days it publishes on schedule, so the cadence never stalls on a busy week.
How long does SEO take to show results?
Plan on six to twelve months, and distrust shorter numbers. A new page has to be crawled, indexed, and tested against real searchers before it holds a position, and early movement shows up as impressions long before it shows up as clicks or calls. That order is normal, and the monthly report makes it visible: impressions rise first, positions climb next, clicks follow. The six month initial term exists because that is the first point where the trend line means something.
Is SEO worth it for every business?
No. Two situations fail the test, and we screen for both on the first call. If nobody searches for what you sell, common with genuinely new products, there is no demand to capture and the money belongs in other channels. If every result that matters is a directory or a national brand, page one is not winnable head-on, though the map pack often still is, because directories cannot appear there. Local service businesses are usually the opposite case: a strong fit, because local and buying-intent searches are where search still sends customers.
Does SEO still matter with AI search and ChatGPT?
The clicks are moving; the groundwork is not. Pew Research found people click a traditional result on 8% of searches when an AI summary is present, against 15% without one. But AI answers cite sources, and what gets cited is structured data, clear factual pages, and a consistent business identity across the web, the same foundation this plan builds and maintains. Local searches, map results, and buying-intent queries, the searches a small business lives on, are also the ones AI summaries touch least.
What happens when we outgrow the basics?
You graduate, and that is the plan working. When the reports show search carrying real revenue and you want link building, digital PR, and a content team behind it, that is a dedicated SEO firm’s job. We refer you to one and stay your website partner. Your domain, your content, and your site come with you into that relationship, because they were always yours.
Can you run SEO on a website you did not build?
The plan runs on sites we build and manage, because the technical half lives in the code: titles, structured data, page speed, internal links. The build is part of the $495, not an extra, so an existing site moves onto the managed plan as the first month’s work. Everything that matters transfers: your domain, your copy, your photos. Any pages already earning traffic are rebuilt at the same addresses, so nothing you have earned gets thrown away.
